SILK WRAP "THE NOCTURNAL QUILT"

CHF 220.00

There is a particular kind of evening that stays with you forever. The kind where the garden smells of warm grass, where fireflies dance between the hedges, where someone's grandmother has carried a quilt from inside and draped it over the back of a chair.

It began the way the best things do, with a collection. A stack of old fabric samples. A postcard of a Baroque ceiling. A color swatch pressed between the pages of a notebook. A Toile de Jouy panel bought at a market in Lyon, that most romantic of textile traditions, where 18th century engravers spent their lives etching pastoral scenes onto copper plates: long tables set in gardens, figures gathered in the late afternoon light, exactly the kind of evening this scarf was made for.

A quilt is always made from something. A work apron, still faintly stained. A dress with a favourite pattern, worn until it finally gave way. A tablecloth that came out for every party, washed and folded and brought out again until the fabric knew the occasion by heart. A sample from a fabric shop that no longer exists, kept for years without ever quite knowing why, until now. Someone cut each of these pieces with intention and stitched them together and decided: yes, these belong next to each other.

This is a piece you will reach for on the evenings that matter. The ones that start outside and end somewhere unexpected. The ones worth remembering.

Tie it in your hair, wrap it around your shoulders as the night gets cooler, or bring it for the host who always sets the most beautiful table. And one day, without quite planning it, you will hand it to someone and realize it has already become a small piece of their story too.
