Studio

Founder Manuela Menzi discovered her love for collages whilst studying at Central Saint Martins in London and founded her namesake Studio in 2016 after graduating. Since then she has been adopting the artful way of collaging to add joy to your gift giving moments through her exquisite wrapping paper.

I believe that the presentation of a gift is just as important as the gift itself, and that's why I've dedicated myself to crafting the most exquisite and unique wrapping papers that transform every gift-giving moment into a cherished memory.

  • It all began during my Textile Design degree at Central Saint Martins in London. I faced a unique challenge as I wasn't as proficient a painter or illustrator as some of my peers. This prompted me to explore creative ways to communicate my ideas effectively. It was during this time that I embarked on a transformative and experimental phase, delving into the realm of mixed media.

In my quest to enhance my skills, I even enrolled in life drawing classes, hoping to refine my artistic abilities. One particular evening, our teacher introduced us to a stack of magazines. Our task was to cut, paste, rip, and glue within minutes, creating a collage from our model. It was during this exercise that a lightbulb moment occurred. I realized that this technique could serve as a powerful tool for translating my ideas.

However, during my academic years, I was known for being a bit messy. After graduating, I decided to take my collaging skills to the digital realm, opting for the precision and cleanliness of Photoshop. This shift not only allowed for greater creative freedom but also offered a tidy and convenient alternative to traditional collage methods.

  • I studied Textile Design at Central Saint Martins in London. As a textile designer, it has always been my passion to create beautiful patterns that evoke emotions and tell stories. My journey into the world of wrapping paper began unexpectedly when my boyfriend's mum started using some of my printed patterns to wrap gifts. She felt that my designs added a personal touch that store-bought wrapping paper couldn't provide.

Five years later I was desperately looking for unique and nice packaging for a gift for one of my closest friends, but I couldn't find anything that met my requirements. The lack of options on the market left me frustrated and stressed as I realised that wrapping paper was becoming a source of anxiety rather than joy. And it was at that very moment that I decided to explore the idea of the art of collaging to create unique and beautiful wrapping paper.

  • Absolutely! I am always excited about the opportunity to collaborate with other brands, artists, and creatives. I believe that the most beautiful and innovative creations often come from working together and sharing unique perspectives. Please feel free to drop me a message or give me a call—I’d love to discuss how we can create something extraordinary together!
