At the edge of Lake Zug, where the hills meet the water and the evening light softens to gold, lies Restaurant Sternen in Walchwil, a place where tradition and creativity share the same table.

Under the guidance of head chef Noémie Bernard, the restaurant celebrates local ingredients with an inventive twist. Awarded 15 GaultMillau points, her cuisine turns each dish into a small piece of art, precise, thoughtful, and full of quiet beauty.

To complement this vision, Noémie and I created a collection of custom plates exclusively for Sternen Walchwil. Each plate is made from upcycled French porcelain. Its surface is adorned with a beige and brown collage of food motifs such as mushrooms, bread rolls, and grains, softly framed by delicate gold details. Only 25 plates were made, and each carries its own quiet uniqueness.

This Christmas, these plates bring the warmth and charm of Sternen to your home. The house is filled with the scent of roasting turkey, cinnamon, and baked apples. The lights are dim, the fire crackles, and the table is full of people who matter most. Someone laughs in the kitchen, another pours wine, the children play with their toys waiting for dessert, and the cat curls up on the couch watching the joyful chaos.

The plates carry the meal from the savory courses to the sweet finale. They hold golden roast turkey with chestnut stuffing, roasted vegetables, and creamy sauces, followed by delicate slices of stollen, spiced Christmas pudding with a dollop of brandy butter, and warm, flaky mince pies. Every dish feels special and allows you to bring a touch of Sternen’s artistry and the magic of a Christmas dinner to your own home.

  • CHECK YOUR ORDER

    As soon as your parcel from Manuela Menzi Studio arrives, it is important to inspect it for signs of damage and to confirm that its contents match your order. In the rare event that the wrong items have been delivered, please check our return policy and let us know, we’ll take care of it right away.

    HANDLE WITH CARE
    Each plate is handcrafted and one of a kind. Small variations and tiny flaws are part of its character. Handle the plate with clean, dry hands to keep the surface and gold details in good condition.

    CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
    Wash the plate with mild detergent and a soft sponge. You can put it in the dishwasher, but the print may fade faster over time. Avoid abrasive brushes and harsh cleaners. The plate is not suitable for microwave use because of the gold details.

    STORAGE
    Dry the plate with a soft towel after washing. Place a soft cloth between stacked plates to prevent scratches and keep the surface protected.

    TEMPERATURE
    Avoid sudden temperature changes, as they can lead to cracks in the porcelain.
