WRAPPING PAPER "CHRISTMAS I"

CHF 24.00

There is a unique feeling to Christmas that is hard to describe with words. It is found in the comforting smell of cinnamon and anise cookies when entering your home after a long walk in the snow. You notice the Christmas tree is now fully decorated, opposite the fireplace. The music from the Nutcracker ballet echoes through the corridor. You feel warm and safe.

Its prominent colour is green, inspired by the nobleness of the evergreen fir, spruce, and pine trees. Every winter season, over 100 million Christmas trees are each welcomed into a home. They are decorated with garlands and lights to stand proud in the living room, protecting the neatly wrapped gifts lying beneath their crown. Evergreen trees remain lush throughout the year, a symbol of life and protection. They remind us that spring is just around the corner, offering safety and hope during the coldest months. This tradition is ancient, rooting back to the decorated "Yule" trees that assisted the spirit of nature survive through the winter.

A key element of the paper is the Nutcracker. In the form of toys, decorative nutcrackers have been widely exchanged as gifts in Germany since the 17th century. In 1892, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" ballet was released, making the toy figurines a timeless Christmas symbol across Europe.

The cinnamon star cookie is a traditional Christmas delicacy popular in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Baking Zimtsterne cookies is a memory of many; the smell of cinnamon and the sound of crushing almonds and whipping egg whites bring a sense of childhood nostalgia.

The story of Christmas is told through these gestures — baking, decorating, preparing. Wrapping, too, becomes part of this quiet anticipation, a pause between preparation and celebration. In the midst of the season’s rush, the paper holds its strength and folds neatly, inviting a slower, more thoughtful moment.

  • INSPECT YOUR ORDER

As soon as the package from Manuela Menzi Studio arrives, it is important to inspect it for signs of damage and to confirm that its contents match your order. This process is crucial in the rare event that the wrong items have been delivered, please check our return policy and let us know, we’ll take care of it right away.

    UNWRAP WITH CARE

To appreciate the unique collage design and texture of an individual wrapping sheet, gently unwrap it from the tube.

Take a moment to observe the intricate motifs as they unravel to form a collage – each design narrates a story inspired by nature, literature, and art. Notice how the visually soft matte finish is balanced by the sturdiness of the tear-resistant paper.

    HANDLE WITH CLEAN, DRY HANDS

To avoid fingerprints and smudges, it is important to handle the paper with clean, dry hands. Washing your hands with soap and water beforehand prevents oil and dirt from transferring onto the paper. Do not skip the step of drying your hands, as water weakens the paper’s structure by making the paper fibres detach and tear. Following these two steps will keep the paper looking pristine.

    STORE FLAT OR ROLLED

You can store the wrapping sheets either by laying them flat in a clean drawer or by re-rolling them and securing them with a ribbon or a soft band, to prevent dents and folds. Avoid securing the wrapping paper with tape or by stacking heavy items on top of the flat sheets; these methods can cause tears and damage.

    PROTECT FROM SUNLIGHT

Ultraviolet rays can cause prints to fade, discolour, and become brittle over time. By storing the wrapping paper in a cool, shaded place, you preserve the vividity of its original colours and its overall sturdiness.
