*ugly: Research and Experiments
*I believe that we have to change the way we look at beauty and what we define as beautiful.
In today’s society beauty is stiff, boring and a slowly changing ideal. In contrast, the concept of ugliness seems to be something personal and diverse.
I chose to look at the ugliness of nature and that of the human body. Both are a ripe source of ugliness with misplaced hair, feet and organs, as well as animals such as fish and chickens.
The shades of greys, light pink, muddy green gold, black and white were developed from a series of pictures taken whilst investigating my personal relationship with ugliness.
